I love this collar! It has help so much with training my dog. I love that ther is a wide range of stim to get my dogs attention and that it has a 1 mile distance range!

You need to attach the lanyard to the bottom not the top of the hand piece. If you wear it around your neck you have to grab it and turn it around to use it. If you are in a hurry it would be better to have it so you don’t have to turn it around. By the time you do that the moment is gone. Thank you Patricia! After leash and prong training, I used the 1900 black system to start off leash training. My dog Bane is a high driven and in tact male GSD. This system has created the missing bond that both of us needed. After just 2 sessions of training, Bane has shown amazing improvement in off leash behavior. I like how it doesn’t hurt him, it just gives him the “hey, hey, hey, listen!” that he needs when he gets distracted.

The product works very well. I have a nine month old German Shepherd Husky Mix. She is a very rambunctious smart dog. We paid for training that got us through the basic behavioral challenges but the techniques used were not working for puppy aggression and more advanced training. I thought I had a basic grasp on her level of obedience until she ran away from me and was running free in the woods around my house for an hour. I was fortunate that she came home on her own. I ordered by 1900S Black Edition that day. Within 3 days of following the training techniques in the Dogtra training book, she was coming on command off leash and under some decent distractions. I have two issues with this product. The first is very minor. The second is not devastating but a large annoyance. First, the finish on the metal pieces on the collar and the remote wear off very easily. Appearance doesn't affect the performance but for $299 you would expect it to hold up for more than a month. The second issue just started and I will be contacting Dogtra for support. The remote has a blue lit display for the stimulation level. The light on my remote no longer comes on making it very difficult to adjust sensitivity in low light situations. Neither of these issues would stop me from recommending the product. I just hope I can get a simple resolution to my second concern. This would easily be a 5 paw product if not for these concerns.
