I have never written a review before, but am so pleased with our experience that I wanted to talk about it. We were recently given a Brittany . She was just under 1 year old and had received little or no training . Very sweet and well behaved in the house , but outside she was wild and unmanageable following her nose and hunting, pulling wildly on her leash and not following commands. She escaped a harness twice and ran off ( came back both times on her own time).We switched back to a collar and had been working on "sit" and "here" and knew that she understood the commands.Much of the time she was choosing not to follow them.We ordered the 280C. It is a high quality product, very well made and sturdy, easy to use and works just as advertised.We have only used it twice a day for 3 days with a 30 ft rope and what a remarkable difference! She comes straight to us and sits by our side the first time she receives the verbal command along with the pager signal .She has done this since the first time we used it.We are wondering if we even need to use the stimulation function.I think we probably will in case we need something more in an unexpected situation. She has been swimming and it is waterproof as advertised. We are so pleased with the product and our results! I thing we will be confidant soon to let her off leash. We look forward to the time when she can be off leash and safely do what she was born to do. I was one of those people who said I would never use a "shock" collar on a dog. I am convinced that it is a humane and effective method of training which is in the dog's best interests as well as the owners.She is happy with the Dogtra collar and so are we.Thanks for this great solution.
